Mistakes in Dishoom

There are plenty of mistakes in the movie Dishoom

Mistake 1:

In this scene Akshay Kumar splashes water on Varun

and in the next scene suddenly the distance increases. How?

Mistake 2:

Here Jacquline falls on the white line now just observe the white line...

Wow that's Magic...

Mistake 3:

Well photographs in passport are always front facing...

Mistake 4:

When police had taken all her belongings...

Where did this photo come from?

Mistake 5:

In this scene there are two chains attached to the secret door...

Wow another magic where did the chains go?

Mistake 6:

This bike chase sequence was too good but wait did you spot the difference in bike?

Well it seems even John couldn't feel the difference.

Mistake 7:

After he was shot he is falling on his chest...

And in the very next scene he is on his back how?

Mistake 8:

In this scene you can see the trees behind the car...

And well in the next scene trees are replaced by building. It seems like development here is too fast.

An Open letter to our PM Narendra Modi:

Respected Sir,
The cost of my one time food (fix thali) has been increased by Rs. 10 that sums upto some Rs. 1000 per month which makes it difficult to survive for a person like me who stays away from home.
On one hand you are requesting us to #GiveItUp our subsidies and on the other hand you are imposing all kind of possible taxes be it #SwachhBharat or #KrishiKalyanCess I'm not getting the logic behind this aakhir aap krna kya chahte ho?
The amount of money you are spending to telecast "Mera desh badal raha, aage badh raha hai..." on all possible mediums of mass communication, if you could have used the same amount in your schemes there wouldn't be a need to increase the taxes.
And Sir have you ever noticed that Rolls Royce and Bentley don't have commercials? REASON: They know the value of their product & that is what brings the customers 2 them. LESSON: When you know your value, you don't have 2 beg people 2 be with you, they will see your work, feel the development, be with you and support you.
Yours Sincerely,
Struggling Indian Youth.

This can happen only in INDIA…

Aruvikkara By-Election 2015 schedule has been announced, the by-election was necessitated due to the death of Congress MLA and late Speaker G Karthikeyan. The main parties in Kerala are ruling Congress led UDF and CPM led LDF. A total of 16 candidates have filed the nomination for Aruvikkara constituency which include one each from INC, CPI[M], BJP, etc. and 6 independent candidates.

The main competition is between Sabarinadhan K S of Congress and Vijayakumar M of CPI[M]. The interesting fact is the list of independent candidates which include names like Sabarinath M S, Vijayakumar B and Vijayakumaran N. Everything is fair in love & war and elections are no less than a war. Political parties leave no stones unturned to ensure their candidate wins. It is believed that such nominations are done by political parties to ensure they break the votes of their opposition party by confusing their voters with similar appearing names. While some believe that these independent candidates themselves file the nominations and later demand money from the political parties to withdraw their nominations. Previous elections have witnessed such drama where the nominations have been withdrawn on the last day. But this time around the political parties seem confident about their winning and hence have not paid any heed to such candidates. The last day of withdrawing nominations was 13th June 2015 saw just one candidate withdrawing his nominations. Now these candidates might be hoping that they somehow get their deposits back.

Another interesting fact related to Aruvikkara election is that BJP has nominated its senior leader O Rajagopal (the only known BJP face in Kerala) who had lost to Shashi Tharoor in the recently conducted Lok Sabha elections 2014. BJP is trying hard to make some way into the Kerala politics as it is the only state where they have miserably failed to make an impact even under the strong leadership of Narendra Modi.

Well having said that, such kind of strategies and mind games being played by the political parties in elections can happen only in INDIA.

Steal phones and live freely in Gujarat

Yes you read it right. If you are unemployed or looking to start a business or unsatisfied with your job, salary, you can try this. It is the most safe, secured and well paid business today.

According to the Norton Mobile Survey 2011, 53 per cent of adults in India have been victims of mobile phone loss or theft i.e one in two mobile phone users in India have been victims of mobile theft and only two in five Indians have a password protecting their devices. Ironically, even though the number of mobile phones has reached 904.5 million with 74% of the population owning a handset, the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) does not collect data on mobile phone theft separately. In the consolidated data stated in NCRB’s Crime in India report, 19,377 cases of electronic components stolen were registered across the country last year, out of which just 6,014 were recovered.

Mobile phone theft has become a major challenge for law enforcement agencies (LEAs), particularly due to national security implications attached to it. Now, the Department of Telecom (DoT) has moved a proposal asking the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to look into the possibility of getting FIRs registered for each stolen mobile handset and immediately blocking it to prevent its misuse by anti-social elements. Most of the stolen phones find their way in the grey market where retailers offer them to prospective customers at a discounted price. While the retailers manage to change all other traces of a phone being stolen, they can never tamper with the IMEI.

I lost my phone on 13th January 2015 and today its more than two months and yet there are no traces of the phone nor the person who stole it. The housekeeper who was employed by the land lady of the paying guest house where I stay in Ahemdabad, took the phone while I was sleeping and left the place. I filed a FIR with the Vastrapur Police Station and my conversation with the police officer was somewhat like this:
Me: Sir, please trace my phone.
Officer: Don't worry, go get that person to me I will make him tell the truth.
Me: Sir, how can I find him out, he has escaped.
Officer: He will return to your paying guest, where will he go else? When he comes bring him to me I will recover your phone from him.
Me: Sir, but what if he never returns? At least track my phone.
Officer: Wait, have patience he will come and yes we are putting your phone on trace.

Whose responsibility is it to track the criminals? Police or Citizens? And once tracked we don't need the help of police, we can ourselves recover the stolen stuff.

A week later I went to check the status of the investigation, I was asked to come the next day as the officer with whom I had filed the FIR was not present. Is there no facility or system where other police official can give the status of investigation? The next day I met the officer and he said my phone was still on trace and I had no other options than to believe him. Today almost after 75 days I still hope that my phone is actually on trace and someday I would get it back.

The police has shown least effort and has failed to track down the person. Is our system really capable of handling security issues? Neither the phone's current location or the last active location has been traced yet. Is our system technically strong to deal with all the cyber crimes? Why is the Cyber crime investigation so weak in our country?
Will the concerned officials take some action over this? Or, as usual will wait for something big to happen, regret over it and then take some action...!!!

Soaked in the Rain

The long lasted wait is over with the Rain God showering his blessing on us. The thirst of mother earth being satisfied after a long dreadful summer, the atmosphere is cool with rejuvenating songs of birds and greenery, it feels like heaven.

The mesmerizing view of Mt. Girnar covered by dark clouds is soothing my eyes, the melody of birds pleasing my ears, the fresh aroma of wet land thrilling my nose, the sweet rain drops feeling my lips and the cool breeze touching my body. I love this season- the season of RAIN. It refreshes the body and mind, activates all senses, and gives peace to our soul.

With the rain outside, I sat by the side of my window with a mug of hot coffee (I guess the best way to enjoy rain and many of you do the same). My phone is overloaded with social media notifications about the rain and people enjoying it. Things have changed a lot in past few years as it forces me to go down the lanes of childhood memories and I bet each one of us does go through these lanes at least once during this season.

I remember…

The pre monsoon preparations of getting latest designed umbrellas, raincoats of your favorite cartoon character even though we were never going to use them.

The games we played changed according to the season, cricket was given a rest and Gilli- Danda, Marbles, etc. was on.

Looking up at the sky and seeing those dark clouds arrive; we used to prepare ourselves for the rain. (Today we check our smart phones for the weather updates…!!!)

Making paper boats and putting them in the waters flowing through the streets to see whose boat survives, made us feel like engineers.

Dancing, splashing water and sliding on the terrace floor. Closing the water outlet pipes of terrace with our t-shirts and making it a mini swimming pool.

Standing tall against heavy/fast rain and feeling as if we are standing on the border and facing enemy bullets.

When a big thunder used to strike, one of us would challenge the Rain God, saying “bring it on, we are not scared, we won’t get down to our houses”.

After some time when the rain slows and is about to stop, the same person would beg to the Rain God, saying “Sorry God, please rain for 5 more minutes and we promise we will get down”. And then the joy gets double if the rain lashes hard with wind, we feel as if our wish has been granted.

We would look at rain falling on the floor; the droplets that rose from ground were hit down by pouring droplets from the sky. This would make us imagine some fierce fight for survival was on.

After the rains, it’s time for some hot snacks- the “bhajiyas and pakoras” with Bournvita and play some indoor games like snakes and ladders, ludo, etc.

Looking at the droplets racing on the window glass and cheering for your favorite drop to win was nothing less than a Formula One F1 race for us.

One would wait for ages under the leaking ceiling roof for a drop to fall so that he can hit it with a scale or stick and feels like hitting Malinga for six with a helicopter shot…

I already had my last sip of coffee with tears rolling down smiling cheeks. I can’t wait more. I am closing my laptop, shutting my phone and if you wish you could join me, out there to get Soaked in the Rain.
